Guam Meteorology, Energy, and Transmission (MET) Toolkit

Awaiting curation License

The Guam Meteorology, Energy, and Transmission (MET) Toolkit is the National Laboratory of the Rockies' (NLR) high-fidelity atmospheric dataset purpose-built to support long-term power system planning and operations across the Guam Islands. This product delivers a unified, geometrically accurate meteorological record spanning 24 years (2000-2023) at 5-minute resolution. Processed using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model with the Yonsei University (YSU) planetary boundary layer scheme - validated against a comprehensive suite of observations - the dataset delivers a comprehensive suite of atmospheric variables - including wind characteristics, temperature, pressure, and humidity - across a strictly standardized and validation-backed framework. The Guam MET Toolkit provides the reliable, long-term meteorological foundation required for renewable generation assessment, load modeling, transmission line rating, and resource adequacy planning in Guam's evolving grid.
