The dataset represents a sample of digital surface models (DSM) tiles representing orthometric surface heights on the Earth. The dataset includes a small sample of DSM tiles (50) as a pre-release. The data is a derivative of USGS Lidar data collected mostly over the last decade. The data includes DSM tiles at the highest possible resolution given the underlying quality of LIDAR data. We created it using known LIDAR-to-DSM procedures using standard geospatial tools.
