Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf Mapping Data
The US Department of Interior's (DOI) Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) published geographic data of offshore activities in the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) area. The data were built from the Technical Information Management System (TIMS) database. The types of data include: lease information, boundary of US jurisdiction for mineral development, major shipping fairways, and locations of pipelines and platforms. The data included here are in ASCII format, though E00 is available directly from the BOEMRE website (http:///www.gomr.boemre.gov/homepg/pubinfo/repcat/arcinfo/index.html). This mapping data is stored in longitude and latitude format; all coordinates are in NAD 27. All .zip files included here contain .data and .gen files, plus a summary document describing the field names.
