Demonstration Site - Albany, NY

Evaluate an innovative wall system with retrofit insulated panels (RIPs) enhanced with vacuum insulated panels (VIPs), and (1) validate the system?s performance ? increasing the insulation R-value of a 3.5? RIP by a factor of four ? on existing multifamily buildings constructed from the early-1970s to the mid-1980s; and (2) implement energy efficiency improvements* (i.e., building envelope, HVAC & water heater upgrades) to accompany these real-world retrofit applications to achieve a reduction of 65-75% EUI.
