Daybreak Efficient Homes - South Jordon, Utah

. Gold Medallion Homes is constructing Building America homes in the Daybreak community in South Jordan, Utah. The first of these homes, located at 10742 Indigo Sky Way, will be the focus of this evaluation. Gold Medallion Homes is committed to working with BIRA to assist through the entire BA Stage gate process, with the goal of building cost effective, marketable communities that are energy efficient. The builder understands that in order to build an energy efficient home a team of professionals will need to be involved. Gold Medallion is working with a private energy consulting firm (Heliocentric), industry partners, and BIRA to ensure that this home will include leading-edge technology in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability. This home incorporates an advanced wall system, two-stage evaporative cooling, a photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) system, hydronic heating, and a condensing water heater. This home has been designed to demonstrate that a high-desert home can be comfortably and effectively cooled with evaporative technology.
