Distribution Asset and Cost Database
The National Laboratory of the Rockies' Distribution Asset and Cost Database contains electrical asset properties and cost information for different components that are critical to all elements of electric power delivery. The recent database release focuses on critical hardware assets and contains more than 9,200 data points from a variety of vendors and published datasets. The goal of the database is to provide a useful, curated, and transparent source of information for assessing distribution asset parameters and costs for distribution planning activities.Examples of ways this database could be used by different parties include:Utilities: Comparing their costs to other utility costs and obtaining additional data about estimated unit cost ranges.Regulators: Provide benchmarks and ranges for potential asset costs and for analysis.Policy-makers: Use the data to perform scenario and sensitivity analysis for planning activities.Researchers and Analysts: Transparent and holistic asset information and costs for distribution planning and analysis.Developers: Use the data as a source for first-pass cost estimates.
