Renewable Energy Siting Lab
Overview
Welcome to Siting Lab, a premier destination for all things related to the siting of renewable energy facilities in the United States. Whether you're seeking high-resolution geospatial data on radar line-of-sights or open-source code to create your own datasets, you'll find it here. Our resources include comprehensive data on county-level ordinances dictating the placement of renewable facilities and tools to model them. Additionally, you can access our supply curve data to estimate technical potential using composite siting criteria, as well as hourly capacity factor profiles, cost analyses, and much more. Whether you're a developer, academic, energy modeler, or policy maker, explore our cutting-edge tools and data to power your needs with precision.

We'd like to acknowledge the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) content models as the catalyst for this work on data standardization. The NGDS content models are now retired.
Tools for Creating your own Siting Data
The Siting Lab GitHub contains a collection of user-friendly tutorials and guides for working with the Siting Lab data within the context of the reV model. The python code examples demonstrate the creation and transformation of Siting Lab data into reV-compliant format as well as working with the reV model inputs and outputs.
